LOCATION |
| The village lies 25 miles west of the county town of Exeter and 28 miles across Dartmoor to Plymouth. The South Devon coast and 'The English Riviera' of Torbay are less than an hours drive away, with the rugged and beautiful North Devon coast being a similar distance. The delights of the north and south Cornish coasts are within easy reach. | |

HOW TO FIND CHAGFORD |
| If driving from the north, take the M5 to the south west as far as Exeter. Leave the motorway at the A30 junction signposted to Okehampton and keep on the A30 for about 20 miles when you will come to the new Whiddon Down junction. Take the slip road to the left but BEWARE! - it is very easy to miss it as the sign for Chagford is small! Follow the sign to services. Drive through the village of Whiddon Down. Immediately after the village turn left at the roundabout onto the A382 signposted Moretonhampstead and Chagford. After about 2 miles you will pass a cross road with the Sandy Park Inn on your right. After about another half mile you come to Easton Cross and you turn right. The road is signposted to Chagford. Follow this road for 1 mile towards the centre of the village. Map |

HOW TO FIND KINGS ARMS COTTAGE |
| On the outskirts of the village you will pass a filling station on the left hand side and then Chagford Primary School on the right. The village street climbs a gentle slope round a slight left hand bend and just before reaching Chagford Square the road divides and there is a horse trough on the apex of the division. Take the right hand fork. |
Almost immediately on the right you will pass a cafe, a veterinary surgery, a computer shop and a goldsmith. You are nearly there! | ||
| Just a few more yards and you will come to Lydstone on the right hand side - thatched house with a small garden behind iron railings. Kings Arms Cottage is at the far end. |

PARKING |
| Parking is at the rear of the property so it is necessary to go "round the block" to reach the courtyard at the back. |
Drive a few yards further to the top of the Square and turn right. Lloyds bank is on the corner and you will see Webbers shop on the opposite side of the road. |
| Drive past the Buller's Arms, the offices of Helpful Holidays and two Georgian style semi detached houses. |
At the end of these Georgian houses turn sharp right into a lane which has a sign saying "Private Road - No Parking". |
| Drive up this lane as far as you can go. You will come up to the chains that border the little rear courtyard of your cottage and you will see your yellow backdoor. |
At this point swing sharp
left through the double gates into the yard which is at the rear of the main house where you can
safely park. Please do not park in the lane. |

Lorna and Bob will be there to welcome you. |
